MEET DR. KILPATRICK
I have been practicing Internal Medicine and Pediatrics for 35 years.
My practice is designed to meet the many needs of families: infants, toddlers, children, teens, young adults, older adults, and geriatric patients.
I usually ask many questions to try to get a sense of the medical situation at hand. Most diagnoses can be made with good history alone. Examinations are done with your modesty in mind and are usually targeted to what the history suggests. Lab work will only be done if it is absolutely necessary (either to make a diagnosis, accomplish recommended screenings, or follow chronic illness).
I believe very strongly in approaching medical care in a holistic fashion. Each of us has been given by God not only the body which we can see, but also a soul and spirit. While each medical situation may not call each of these areas into examination, recognizing that they exist goes a long way towards understanding the complexities of each person.
I believe that practicing ethical medicine is critical not only for each patient’s benefit, but for my good conscience and peace of mind as well. First, we endeavor to do no harm. Second, we attempt to do good to all. Third, we recognize that each patient has the right as a competent adult to make informed decisions about their own medical care. Finally, we attempt to treat each patient fairly and equitably.
We will attempt to meet your many needs—whether that be the care of your complex or simple medical problem(s), your need for a specific appointment time in the midst of your busy day, your need to be fully heard and respected, your need to understand your treatment options, and the emotional support you may need as you interact with a medical diagnosis.
Access to care is an important part of every Primary Care practice. Because of the Direct Primary Care model, there are several ways we can get in touch with each other (based on the urgency of the situation). These include in-person visits but may also include email, text message, phone, and FaceTime. True emergencies that would normally require emergency care in a hospital ER should still be referred to the ER.
We hope you will consider our practice for your health care needs!
